Tata Safari XT, XZ Variants Get New Features – Details Here

Tata Motors has added a bunch of new features to the XT and XZ trims of its flagship Safari SUV. While the XT and XTA variants now come equipped with an air purifier, the XZ and XZA variants get an air purifier along with a wireless charger and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. At present, the Tata Safari XT trim comes with an 8-speaker audio system, iRA connected car technology, rear view camera, ambient lighting, rear centre armrest, keyless entry and go, automatic climate control, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system, power folding wing mirrors, auto headlamps and wipers, LED DRLs and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Safari XZ and XZA get some exclusively features over the XT trim including an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, semi-digital instrument console with 7.0-inch TFT display, 6-way electric adjust drive seat, auto dimming rear view mirror, oyster white leatherette upholstery, terrain response modes, electronic parking brake with auto hold, hill decent control, 6 airbags, Isofix child seat anchors, 18-inch machined alloys, Xenon HID projector headlamps and fog lamps with cornering function.

Under the hood, the Tata Safari features a 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine that pushes out a peak power of 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the Harrier. Select variants are offered with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, while a 6-speed manual transmission is standard.

Recently, the automaker introduced the Tata Safari Gold Edition with cosmetic changes inside and out. The model comes in two colour options – White Gold with Frost White body colour and Black roof and Black Gold with Black body colour and Gold highlights. Prices of the new Gold Edition for the XZ+ manual variant is Rs 21.89 lakh and for XZA+ automatic variant is 23.18 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
