Suzuki B-Cross – A Re-Badged Toyota Raize SUV Imagined

Suzuki has recently announced the ACross mid-sized SUV, which is basically the re-badged Toyota RAV4 hybrid. This model is specifically introduced for the European markets. Recent media reports claim that Toyota is planning to bring the new DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) in India.

This is basically the low-cost version of the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. The company is selling the Raize sub-4 meter SUV based on this platform in Japan and select South Asian markets. If reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki will introduce an all-new mid-sized SUV based on this platform in our market.

Suzuki B-Cross Rear Rendered

Digital Artist, Kleber Silva has released a couple of images showing the re-badged Toyota Raize, which he called Suzuki B-Cross. The digital rendering looks exactly similar to that of the Toyota Raize, though it receives Suzuki logo at the centre and newly styled headlamps. Other than these two changes, the B-Cross rendering remains identical to the Raize compact SUV. Except for the Suzuki logo, the rear too remains the same.

Coming back to the Maruti Suzuki’s mid-sized SUV, the new model will measure around 4.3 meters in length. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Nissan Kicks. The Raize is powered by a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine producing 97bhp and 140Nm of torque. However, the Maruti’s upcoming mid-sized SUV will receive a more powerful petrol engine (a new 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine in the works). The SUV could also receive the BSVI compliant 1.5L diesel engine.
