The long-awaited Kia Sonet sub-4 meter SUV will go on sale in the country in August 2020. The compact SUV will be the brand’s 3rd product in our market. Dealers have already started taking pre-orders; however, Kia is yet to make an official announcement on the same. The new compact SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
The Kia Sonet shares the platform and engine options with the Hyundai Venue. The new model will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.0L turbocharged petrol, a 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5L turbo-diesel. Transmission options include a 5-speed MT, a 6-speed MT (1.0L Petrol), a 6-speed iMT (1.0L Petrol) and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (1.5L Diesel). Ventilated Front Seats
The new Sonet comes equipped with several high-end comfort and convenience features. The top-spec model also gets ventilated front seats for both driver and co-driver. Integrated air purifier with virus protection
The new Kia Sonet comes equipped with an integrated purifier, which saves space in the car. Hyundai is also offering a standard purifier with the Venue, but the purifier is a separate unit.
10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment
The new Kia Sonet is equipped with segment-largest 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Navigation. The infotainment system comes integrated with UVO connected car system.
Bose Premium Sound System
The range-topping Kia Sonet is equipped with segment-first 7-speaker sound system, which is sourced from Bose. Kia claims that the new Sonet’s Bose sound system offers segment-best sound system.
360 degree camera
The Kia Seltos will be the most affordable and only car in its category to offer a 360-degree camera system. This system will help driver to park the Sonet even in tight spaces.
