Mahindra owned Ssangyong Motors has unveiled the X100 mini SUV concept at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show. According to media reports, the production version of X100 compact SUV will be launched in January 2015. The Korean automaker is working hard to improve its sales and is aiming to double its sales by 2016. At the Delhi Motor Show, the company previewed the Rodius MPV and LIV-1 concept. However, Ssangyong Motors is yet to decide on the future product lineup for the Indian market.

The Ssangyong X100 SUV is unlikely to make its debut in the Indian market. The 5-seater SUV will first go on sale in the European markets. The five-seater compact SUV will be positioned below the Korando SUV and will compete against the likes of Nissan Terrano, Ford EcoSport, Honda Vezel and upcoming Hyundai ix25.

Mahindra is also working on a mid-sized SUV, codenamed S102, which is likely to be based on XLV platform. The front fascia of the SUV gets a tall grille with LED taillights. The wider D pillars with black detailing is a design cue seen on other concept models by SsangYong. Inside the cabin, the XLV seats seven in three rows. The rear center seat can slide forward and back. The Ssangyong XLV concept SUV is 4,430mm long, 1,845mm wide and 1,600mm high, and it has a large wheelbase of 2,600 which contributes into its spacious cabin.
