Hyundai will unveil the new generation i20 hatchback at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October. If media reports to believe, the Indian model is expected to be launched prior to its world’s debut, sometime around September. The vehicle has been spotted testing on two different places (Bangalore & Chennai) in India. The spotted cars features silver and red exterior shades, which indicates that this model will be offered in four exterior shades just like the Grand i10. The spotted i20’s looked like a mid-variant as they lack alloy wheels.
The new Hyundai i20 hatch looks like a stretched version of Grand i10 and it will feature the evolved design language of the immensely popular fluidic sculpture. The front fascia gets signature hexagonal grille which offers family look. The side profile of the hatchback gets maximum changes as it now features coupe-like low roofline. Its rear now equipped with boomerang-shaped tail lamps, while the boot space is also expected to have increased from the current model.
The new 2015 Hyundai i20 will carry over the current engine configuration. The petrol model will get the 1.2-litre Kappa2 mill that produces 83PS, while the oil burner will be powered by the 1.4-litre CRDi unit that develops 93PS. It is also expected to get an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine; however, nothing has been confirmed on the same. Both the engines will be paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox, while the petrol model will also get automatic model.
