The spotted model is expected to be the standard model; however, if media reports to believe, the company is also working on a coupe and a long wheelbase variant of the SUV which will measure around 4990mm in length. This long wheelbase variant will be the seven seater model, which is speculated to come India as well.
The Volkswagen Tiguan will be based on the MQB platform and it will be made available with a range of 4-cylinder engines. If reports are to believe, the petrol version of the SUV will get 1.4-litre TSI engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox, which is capable of developing 130PS. The oil burner will get the 2.0L TDI motor that returns two states of power output- 140PS and 170PS, and the engine will come mated to a six-speed DSG gearbox. There will be a 1.6-litre TDI engine with 110PS as well.
