Volkswagen has finally revealed the new generation 2015 Passat sedan. The company has released a set of images of the sedan as well as Estate model, which gives important details about the vehicle.

We reported earlier that Volkswagen will unveil the new generation Passat in July ahead of its public premiere at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October. Now, the company has released the teaser image of the saloon. Codenamed B8, the 8th generation Passat teaser image is fully covered in clothe providing an aggressive fascia with LED daytime running lamps.
The aggressive front fascia of the VW Passat comprises of molded bonnet which is complemented by front grille and flared wheel arches. The vehicle now features a coupe-like roofline to give a sporty stance. The new fascia resembles the Volkswagen’s CrossBlue Coupe and T-Roc concepts. The narrow grille stretched and meets the newly designed headlights, while there is a single chrome line running above the fog lamp assembly which adds to its sporty character.
The new generation Passat is up to 85kg lighter than its predecessor which improves its fuel economy by up to 20 per cent. The exterior dimensions of the vehicle are slightly smaller than the previous Passat; however, the interior space is improved, with more leg-and head-room, as well as increased luggage space. The new generation saloon will be powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre, bi-turbo diesel engine producing 240PS and a peak torque of 500Nm. The engine will be available only with a new seven-speed DSG gearbox and 4MOTION all-wheel drive
