Skoda Kushaq will be the new rival for the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the country. The mid-size SUV is scheduled to launch on coming 28th June, while its deliveries will be made from July 2021. The new Skoda SUV will come three trims – Active, Ambition and Style and four engine-gearbox combinations. The entry-level Active trim will be exclusively available with 1.0L TSI turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The gasoline unit returns a claimed power of 115bhp with 178Nm of torque.
The mid-level Ambition trim can be had with 1.0L TSI petrol motor with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options. The range-topping Style trim will be available with all four engine-gearbox combo – i.e. 1.0L TSI with 6-speed MT, 1.0L TSI with 6-speed AT, 1.5L TSI with 6-speed MT and 1.5L TSI with 7-speed DSG. The 1.5L petrol engine pushes out a peak power of 150bhp and a maximum torque of 250Nm.

The Skoda Kushaq will be the most powerful petrol vehicle in its segment. Its arch rivals – Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos come with the 115bhp. 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 140bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol and 115bhp, 1.5L diesel engine options. Both SUVs are available with 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque convertor automatic, and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox options. Some of its key highlights include the signature crystalline LED headlamps with DRLs, Skoda’s grille with chrome surround, piano black fender garnish with chrome outline, crystalline LED taillamps, electric sunroof, multi function display instrument cluster, 6-speaker audio system, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Skoda play app, front ventilated black leather seats with perforated grey design, 6 airbags and electronic stability control (ESC).
