2021 Maruti Celerio Inches Closer To Production – Key Details

The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been in the making for a while now and we have seen its multiple test mules over the last few months. However, the latest spy images suggest that the hatchback might soon enter production. While its official launch date and details are yet to be announced, the 2021 Maruti Celerio is reported to hit showrooms during this festive season. Its recently leaked patented images reveal that the hatchback will ditch the boxy and upright stance for modern looks.

Upfront, the new-generation model features an elliptical grille and droplet shaped, sleeker headlamps. It gets newly-designed fog lamps and front bumper with new air dam. The side profile has been revised with the newly-designed wheels, which are likely to feature 14-inch alloys (reserved for the top-end trims). Noticeable changes have also been made to its rear section. The new Maruti Celerio 2021 features rounded taillamps, leaner bumper and a lower roofline slopping towards the rear windscreen.

The spy images reveal that the new Maruti Celerio 2021 will feature a newly-designed dashboard and a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system. The info unit will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The hatchback will also receive a new steering wheel and centre console. Read – New-Gen Maruti Swift Development Starts For India

Engine setup of the 2021 Maruti Celerio is likely to include the existing 1.0L petrol engine with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox option. The motor delivers a claimed power of 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. Reports suggest that the hatchback might also get a 83bhp, 1.2L petrol motor borrowed from the WagonR.
