Skoda Kushaq More Powerful Than Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos

Skoda Kushaq mid-size SUV prices are slated to be announced on 28th June and its deliveries will begin in July 2021. It will be the first Skoda production model to roll out under VW Group’s India 2.0 Project and designed on the MQB AO IN platform. The SUV will be offered in three trims – Active, Ambition and Style – and 5 colour schemes – Carbon Steel, Candy White, Honey Orange, Tornado Red and Brilliant Silver. The Kushaq’s overall length, width and height stand at 4221mm, 1760mm and 1612mm respectively.

The new Skoda SUV will come in four engine-gearbox combinations including 1.0L TSI petrol with 6-speed manual, 1.0L TSI petrol with 6-speed automatic, 1.5L TSI petrol with 6-speed manual and 1.5L TSI petrol with 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. While the entry-level Active trim will be exclusively offered with 1.0L TSI petrol with 6-speed manual transmission, the top-end Style trim can be had with all four engine- gearbox combinations.

The Kushaq’s 1.0L and 1.5L TSI turbocharged petrol motors delivers power worth 115bhp with 178Nm and 150bhp with 250Nm respectively. Compared to the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the Skoda Kushaq (1.5L TSI) will be more powerful. Feature-wise, the new Skoda SUV will be packed with a 7-speaker audio system, ventilated front leather seats, wireless charging, two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, auto dimming IRVM and keyless entry. One of its major attractions will be a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless MirrorLink connectivity.

The Skoda Kushaq’s safety kit will include multiple airbags, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear view camera, rear parking sensors, multi collision brake, hill hold control and Isofix child seat anchorages.
