Royal Enfield Shotgun 650cc – New Images Show Production-Ready Model

Royal Enfield’s Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 motorcycles have been doing good in terms of sales for the company. With an aim to further expand its 650cc product lineup, the Chennai-based bikemaker is planning to launch three new models including Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650 and a cruiser bike. Recently, the upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650cc was caught testing on foreign land. The spy images are very clear and reveal new interesting details of its close-to-production model.

The prototype is likely to there for range testing as it has a top box and connected wires. Design and styling of the RE Shotgun 650cc shares resemblance to the SG650 Concept. The bike carries round headlamps and rear view mirrors along with teardrop shaped fuel tank and wide rear mudguard. These design bits give it a retro-classic look. One must note that the headlamps have LED elements and blinkers have halogen bulbs.

The new Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is likely to offer a semi digital instrument panel with a Tripper navigation for turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, USB charger and all LED lighting system. The bike will have USD forks at front and dual rear shock absorbers for performing suspension duties. It will derive stopping power from front and rear disc brakes along with the dual-channel ABS.

While its official engine details are yet to be revealed, the RE Shotgun 650 is likely to come with the 648cc parallel-twin, air-cooled engine. It’s the same motor that does duty in the RE 650 twins. Paired with a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox, the engine returns a claimed power of 47bhp and 52Nm of torque. The power and torque figures for the new Shotgun 650cc might be slightly different.
