Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, the cruiser motorcycle from the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker, was recently teased in its production avatar in an official video. In India, the Super Meteor 650 will be the most expensive RE bike that’s reported to launch by mid 2022. Here’re key details of the upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser.

– For people not in the know, the ‘Super Meteor’ nameplate was used by the company for its bike that was exported to the US between 1952 and 1962.

– First talking about the engine, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is likely to share its powertrain with the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. That means, it will derive power from a 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine boosted with fuel injection technology. The motor pushes out a maximum power of over 47PS and 52Nm of torque. The cruiser will have a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch.

– Suspension setup of the bike might include USD front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The Super Meteor 650 will be the brand’s first bike to feature upside down front forks. – The Chennai-based bikemaker might equip the bike with features such as a semi-digital instrument cluster with Tripper navigation, cruiser-like large 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with fat tyres, circular headlamp, taillamp and turn indictors, forward footpegs, a fatter rear fender , a low slung and a twin pipe exhaust system.

– The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is likely to share some of its design elements with the KX Concept that was unveiled in 2019. The new cruiser motorcycle will be positioned above the RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.
