In order to meet the government’s mandated deadline for all 125cc+ two wheelers to get ABS as standard feature, Royal Enfield will introduce this feature across its product range by the end of this year. In coming months, the bikemaker will roll out the much-awaited Interceptor and Continental GT 650 motorcycles in the Indian market.

The Royal Enfield 650 twins will see the global release by the end of this month. Both the bikes first broke cover at the 2017 EICMA Show in Milan, followed by their India debut at the 2017 Rider Maina in Goa. Power for the bikes comes from a 648cc, single-cylinder, air-oil cooled engine that’s good for 47bhp and 52Nm of torque. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed gearbox.

The Chennai based bikemaker will also give a generation change to its four popular motorcycle range including RE Classic, Himalayan, Thunderbird and Bullet. Designed on the ‘J’ platform, the all new models will be compliant to the upcoming BS6 emission norms.
