Renault Kiger Final Model Shows New Alloys; Debut On 28th Jan

Renault Kiger subcompact SUV is all set to make its official debut on 28th January 2021. Ahead of its unveiling, the production-ready version has been caught on camera featuring newly-designed alloy wheels. The spied test mule was assembled with the five-spoke alloy wheels that look similar to the Triber. In the same picture, you can notice the lower-spec variant with the wheel covers.

The carmaker has already confirmed that the production-spec Kiger will feature projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The upright stance will also be retained from the concept. Some of its other key highlights will include roof rails, C-shaped LED taillamps, neatly sculpted boot with black cladding, rear wiper and steeper rear windshield and reverse light.

The upcoming Renault Kiger shares its platform, features and engines with its sister car – Nissan Magnite. Both models underpin the alliance’s CMF-A platform. Reports suggest that Renault’s compact SUV will have more features on-board than the Magnite. Though, it will cost slightly higher than its cousin. The Kiger might be packed with goodies such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, automatic climate control, push button start and many more. Interior design might share resemblance to the Triber subcompact MPV.

Renault Kiger side profile

As mentioned above, the new Renault compact SUV will share its powertrains with the Magnite. That means, it will be offered with 1.0L turbocharged and 1.0L naturally aspirated motors making power worth 100bhp with 160Nm and 71bhp with 96Nm respectively. The model lineup will get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional 6-speed CVT automatic transmission will be reserved for the turbo-petrol variants.

Renault Kiger will be the smallest and most affordable SUV from the French carmaker in the country. Its entry-level variant is likely to be priced around 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Its production-ready version might see a release in February or March 2021.
