RE Classic 350

Royal Enfield will launch the new generation Classic 350 in the second quarter of 2021, most probably in April-May. The new motorcycle will be based on the new modular J platform, which underpins the Meteor 350. It has already been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. The spy images confirm that the new Classic 350 will retain the original Classic look, but it will be equipped with modern design and features.

The bike will be equipped with new fuel tank, exhaust system and tail-lamps. It will retain the original-classic look, featuring round headlamps, chrome-plated rear view mirrors and turn indicators. The motorcycle will come equipped with a semi-digital instrument console with an analogue speedometer, which will be shared with the Meteor 350 cruiser. It will also receive the tripper navigation. Not just platform, the bike will share the engine with the Meteor 350. It will get a new 349cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with OHC design, which produces 20.2bhp and 27Nm of torque For transmitting power, the engine will be coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

Royal Enfield is also testing a new motorcycle, which seems inspired by the Interceptor 650. Likely to be called the Interceptor 350, the bike will share the engine and platform with the new Meteor 350. It will have telescopic front forks instead of the USD forks, and twin-spring rear shock absorbers. The motorcycle will be powered by the same 20.2bhp, 349cc single-cylinder engine that powers the Meteor 350. It is expected to be launched before the end of this year.

Royal Enfield is testing an all-new 65-cc cruiser motorcycle, which is reportedly to be launched before Diwali 2021. The new motorcycle is likely to share design bits with the KX Concept. It will have a low-slung typical-cruiser like profile, and will have round headlamps along with large visor for wind protection, slender fuel tank and alloy wheels. The motorcycle will have longer wheelbase compared to the Continental GT and Interceptor 650. It will have split seats, twin-pipe exhaust system, round tail-lamps and turn indicators and fatter rear fender.

The upcoming RE 650cc cruiser is most likely to share the engine option with the Continental GT 650. The 649cc twin-cylinder engine is capable of producing 47PS of maximum power and 52Nm of peak torque. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.

Honda CB350 Scrambler

HHonda Motorcycles and Scooters India is reportedly developing a new Scrambler based on the Highness CB350, which was launched in October 2020. It will use the CB350’s chassis and engine, and will come with visual makeovers and a few hardware changes. The bike is likely to come with wire-spoke wheels and a high-set exhaust with a head shield. It will be powered by a 348cc single-cylinder engine that churns out 21bhp of power and 30Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The new Scrambler is likely to be launched in the mid-2021, before Diwali.

New Bajaj Pulsar 250

Bajaj Auto is working on the next generation Pulsar range, which will comprise of 250cc and 150cc Pulsars. The company will introduce the new Pulsar NS250 and the Pulsar RS250 in the country in 2021. The new bikes will be based on the Duke 250’s platform. Not just platform, the motorcycles will use Duke’s 250cc engine that also powers the Dominar 250. While powering the Dominar, the 248.8cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine produces 27bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 23.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The Duke’s 250cc engine offers 30PS and 24Nm. While the Pulsar RS250 will rival the Suzuki Gixxer SF250, the NS250 will challenge the Gixxer 250.

TVS Motor Company will launch a new cruiser motorcycle based on the Zeppelin cruiser concept in the country. The company has trademarked the Zeppelin R nameplate, which is expected to be the name of the bike. The bike is likely to rival the Bajaj Dominar 250. The production version of the bike won’t feature the hybird motor and the high-tech front-mounted HD camera. The concept model was powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder motor coupled with 1,200 watt regenerative assist motor with a 48 volt Lithium-ion battery. The company says that it delivers 20% more torque when needed.

TVS Apache RTR 310 Naked

TVS is reportedly working on a naked version of the Apache RR310 fully-faired model. Likely to be called the RTR 310, the motorcycle will be launched to rival the KTM Duke 390. The motorcycle will share the platform, powertrain and suspension set-up with the fully-faired bike; however, design of the bike will have similarities with the naked Apache range. It will have USD front forks, disc brakes and Micheline Road 5 tyres. The bike will be powered by a 312cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 34PS of power and 27.3Nm of torque. The bike is also likely to offer 4 ride modes and Glide through tech plus.

Yamaha FZ-X Touring Motorcycle

Japanese two-wheeler maker is working on a new 250cc adventure tourer, which is reportedly to be called the Yamaha FZ-X. The new bike will share its platform and some of the features with the FZ25. The motorcycle is also likely to share styling cues from the Tracer series, featuring sharp headlamps and a large windshield. The bike will source the 249cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor from the FZ-25. Paired to a 5-speed gearbox, this engine produces 20.8PS of power and 20.1Nm of torque.
