Renault Kiger Compact SUV Teased – What We Know So Far

Renault Kiger, the upcoming subcompact SUV from the French carmaker, has been teased for the first time. The vehicle’s concept will be unveiled in the coming weeks and its production version is likely to hit Indian roads sometime in 2021. The teasers show a few styling elements of the compact SUV including bold grille flanked by LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and LED turn indicators flowing outwards from the centre.

You can notice the green highlights on the door handles and the rear spoiler integrated on the top of the tailgate. The teasers also reveal that the upcoming Renault compact SUV concept features chunky roof rails and split LED taillamps. We have seen multiple test mules of the Kiger via spy pictures revealing some interesting design details. The compact SUV will share some of its styling bits with the other Renault cars.

Official engine specifications of the upcoming Renault Kiger are yet to be revealed by the company. Though, it’s reported to come with the 1.0L naturally aspirated and 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine options. The same powertrains will be offered with the Nissan Magnite that’s ready to launch in the coming weeks. While the naturally-aspirated motor will come with manual and AMT gearbox options, the turbo-petrol unit will be available with manual and CVT automatic transmissions.
