Over 53,000 Bookings For Maruti Grand Vitara; 22,000 For Strong Hybrid

Maruti Suzuki’s much-awaited Grand Vitara SUV is all set to hit showrooms in the last week of September 2022. Ahead of its market arrival, the model has been receiving overwhelming response from buyers. The proof of this lies in the fact that the Maruti Grand Vitara gathered over 53,000 bookings even before its price announcement. Bookings for the vehicle were opened on 11th July for a token sum of Rs 11,000. It will be available across all Maruti Suzuki Nexa dealerships in the country.

After the Toyota Urban Cruiser, the new Maruti Grand Vitara will be the second strong hybrid SUV in the country. Its powertrains are exactly similar to the Hyryder. The SUV comes with Toyota’s 1.5L TNGA Atkinson Cycle (92bhp/122Nm) engine paired to an electric motor (79bhp/141nm). With an eCVT gearbox, it delivers a combined power out of 115bhp. The SUV has an electric-only range of up to 25km. The carmaker has confirmed that its strong hybrid version offers a fuel economy of 27.97kmpl.

Maruti Grand Vitara Launch

The new Maruti SUV also comes with a 1.5L K15C mild hybrid engine that’s also available on the new Brezza, updated XL6 and Ertiga. It pushes out a peak power of 103bhp and 117Nm of torque. The mild hybrid setup can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. Suzuki’s All-Grip AWD tech will exclusively available on the top-end manual trims. The Grand Vitara mild hybrid is claimed to return mileage of 21.11 kmpl for the 2WD manual, 20.58 kmpl for the 2WD automatic and 19.38 kmpl for the AllGrip AWD variant. In terms of features, the new Maruti Grand Vitara has been packed with lots of comfort goodies and safety fitments. The range-topping Alpha+ comes with some exclusive features such as front seat ventilation, a 360 degree camera (available in Alpha trim as well), puddle lamps, leatherette steering wheel and tyre pressure monitoring system. It also gets head-up display, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting on the dashboard, all-black interior, a panoramic sunroof, hill descent control, a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen system with wireless smartphone connectivity and more.
