Maruti Suzuki introduced the second-generation Brezza in June at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In just one month of its market launch, the model recorded a total sales of 15,193 units and became the top-selling SUV in the country. Speaking to a media publication, Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director at MSI, has revealed that the company received over 1 lakh bookings for the new 2022 Maruti Brezza so far.
The SUV model lineup comes in four trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ – powered by a 1.5L K15C petrol engine. The motor, with a 5-speed manual gearbox, produces a peak power of 103bhp and 137Nm of torque. The manual variants are available within the price range of Rs 7.99 lakh – Rs 12.46 lakh. There are five automatic variants – VXi, ZXi, ZXi dual-tone, ZXi+ and ZXi+ dual-tone – priced at Rs 10.96 lakh, Rs 12.36 lakh, Rs 12.52 lakh, Rs 13.80 lakh and Rs 13.96 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
The automaker has already confirmed that it will bring in Maruti Brezza CNG in near future. The model will use the existing petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Compared to the regular version, the CNG variant will be more fuel efficient. Though, its power and torque figures could be slightly reduced.
In other updates, the Indo-Japanese automaker is gearing up to launch the all-new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara mid-size SUV by the end of September 2022. It will be the brand’s first strong hybrid model that’s co-developed with Toyota. The model shares its design elements, features and powertrains with the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV. Though, both models look different. The Grand Vitara underpins Suzuki’s Global-C platform and will be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options. It has AllGrip AWD system and 4 driving modes – Auto, Sand, Snow and Lock.
