Automakers have released their sales number for the month of August 2022. Most of the automakers including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra have posted positive sales growth. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno was the best-selling model with 18,418 units sold in the month of August 2022. What’s big is that Maruti Brezza has retained the number 1 position in the list of top selling SUVs in the month of August 2022.
The new Maruti Brezza beats Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta and the Tata Punch to regain its lost position in the SUV category. However, the gap between the Maruti Brezza and the Tata Nexon is marginal. MSIL sold 15,193 units of the Brezza in August 2022 as against 12,906 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 18 per cent. On the other hand, Tata Motors sold 15,085 units of the Nexon compact SUV last month as against 10,006 units in August 2021. The Nexon has reported a YoY sales growth of 51%. Hyundai has sold 12,577 units of the Creta compact SUV in August 2022 as against 12,597 units in the same month last year. What’s interesting is that Tata Motors has also delivered over 12,000 units of the Punch SUV in the month of August 2022. The company delivered 12,006 Punch SUVs last month that makes it the 4th best-selling model in the SUV category.

Maruti Suzuki Sales August 2022
Maruti Suzuki has sold 1,34,166 vehicles in August 2022 as against 1,03,187 units in the same month last year. The company reported a year-on-year sales growth of 30.02 per cent and currently holds a market share of 40.87 per cent.
