Next Big Launches From Maruti, Hyundai – Details

India’s two major auto manufacturers – Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are ready to introduce a range of new products in the country. But, what will be the next big launches from both carmakers? Well, the Indo-Japanese automaker has planned the new-generation Maruti Celerio for later this year. The South Korean company, on other hand, will foray into the micro SUV segment with the Hyundai Casper. Here’s a brief on the next big launches from Maruti and Hyundai.

The hatchback’s new-generation model was scheduled to arrive during 2021 festive season. However, the latest reports suggest that it has been delayed towards to the end of this year due to shortage of semiconductor chips. The 2021 Maruti Celerio will underpin the Heartect platform and witness significant changes inside and out. In fact, its dimensions will also be stretched. In terms of features, the hatchback will get a 7-0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity, a new instrument cluster, new upholstery and a multi functional steering wheel. Under the hood, the new Maruti Celerio will feature the existing 69bhp, 1.0L NA petrol engine with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The WagonR’s 82bhp, 1.2L NA petrol motor is also reported to be offered.

Hyundai Casper micro SUV is reported to hit Indian shores in early 2022. However, it might be introduced with a new nameplate. We have already seen exterior and interior images of the vehicle that have been doing rounds on internet. The model has boxy silhouette and carries spilt LED headlamps with LED DRLs, silver grille with triangular motifs, a faux silver skid plate, a flat bonnet, squared-off wheel arches, dual-tone alloys, triangular LED light motifs on tailgate and circular taillamps. The micro SUV will measure 3595mm in length, 1595mm in width and 1575mm in height. Reports suggest that the Casper will come with the 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engines. The Grand i10 Nios’ 1.2L or Santro’s 1.1L might also be offered.
