Tata Motors has dropped a teaser image of its new electric car that’s scheduled to be unveiled on 6th April 2022. The tease reads – “Different is Electrifying” and it shows the body panels of the vehicle. While the automaker remains tight lipped about the name and details of the upcoming electric vehicle, it’s reported to be the long-range Tata Nexon EV.
The company is also working on three new electric cars including the updated Tigor EV, Altroz EV and Punch EV. Here’re key details of the upcoming new Tata electric cars.
Long-Range Tata Nexon EV
The 2022 Tata Nexon EV is reported to come with the bigger 40kWh battery pack offering a range of over 400km on a full charge. The company might also offer a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger along with the existing 3.3kW AC charger for the smaller battery pack. A few design changes and feature upgrades will also be made to the electric SUV. The new Nexon EV might come with the ventilated seats, air purifier, cruise control, a park mode and electronic stability program.
Long-Range Tata Tigor EV
Recently, a prototype of the new Tata Tigor EV was caught on camera during its test rounds in the country. Reports suggest that the electric sedan might come with the larger battery pack promising longer range. At present, the Tigor EV is available with a 26kWh lithium-ion battery pack and electric motor. Its range is likely to be around 375km-400km on a full charge. The 2022 Tata Tigor EV could get updated suspension that will increase its weight.
Tata Altroz EV
Tata Motors says that it will bring in the Altroz EV “at the right time”. Its official launch details is yet to be revealed. The automaker unveiled the electric hatchback at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, followed by its India debut at the 2022 Auto Expo. The Tata Altroz EV is likely to come with Tata’s updated Ziptron technology that will soon be introduced on the new Nexon EV. Some significant changes will also be made to its interior and exterior.
