Citroen C3 – Turbo Petrol Engine, DCT Automatic, No Diesel

The Citroen C3 is ready to witness a release in coming months. Interestingly it will be the brand’s first model to come under its C-cubed programme that’s designed especially for emerging markets. Ahead of its official arrival, we have seen the model running on roads without any camouflage.

Touted as a hatchback, the C3 carries SUV-ish stance with spacious cabin and turbocharged petrol engine. Its official engine details are yet to be revealed. Though, the model is likely to come with the 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine and the 5-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox options. No diesel engine will be on offer.

Citroen C3 Side Profile

The automaker has confirmed that its new hatchback has been designed on the heavily localized CMP (Common Modular Platform). The architecture is said to have over 90 percent locally sourced components. Measuring 3.98 metre in length, the Citroen C3 has raised bonnet and high ground clearance. Its overall width and height stand at 1829mm and 1474mm respectively. The hatch sits on a 2539mm long wheelbase. Read: Citroen Berlingo MPV In India – Maruti Ertiga Fighter

Upfront, the hatch features Citroen’s signature double-slate grille connecting the split LED headlamps. Design bits such as black cladding all-around the body, alloy wheels, faux roof rails and wraparound LED taillamps add more to its SUV-ish looks.

Citroen C3 Interior

Interior of the new Citroen small car will be packed with several goodies. For connectivity purpose, the hatch will offer a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a flat-bottom steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster.

With heavily-localized platform, the Citroen C3 is expected to be priced competitively in the hatchback segment. Prices of the vehicle are likely to fall in the range of Rs 5.50 lakh – Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). In this price range, it might snatch some buyers of the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. More details on the new Citroen small car will be revealed in near future.
