2022 Tata Nexon EV Will Be High On Features – Report

The home-grown automaker is gearing up to launch the 2022 Tata Nexon EV facelift in the country. The electric SUV will receive significant powertrain upgrades along with a bunch of new features and cosmetic changes. According to a fresh media report, the company might equip the new Nexon EV with features such as ventilated seats, cruise control and a park mode. It might also get air purifier and electronic stability program (ESP).

Just so you know, the regular Nexon model lineup recently received two new variants packed with an air purifier, ventilated front seats, an auto dimming interior rear view mirror and Benecke Kalio leatherette upholstery.

Minor changes will be made to its design and styling. As mentioned above, the new 2022 Tata Nexon EV will witness a major update in the form of larger 40kWh battery pack offering an estimated range of over 400km on a single charge. In rear world conditions, it’s likely to deliver range of 300-320km. Interestingly, the company will sell the updated Nexon EV with the existing 30.3kWh battery pack as well. The report further states that the long-range Tata Nexon EV will be offered with a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger. At present, the electric SUV comes with a 3.3kW AC charger that can be juiced up in 10 hours. Similar to the smaller battery pack, the existing 3.3kW AC charger might continue to be on offer. In order to improve its range, the new Nexon EV could be equipped with the selectable regeneration modes that will enable driver to adjust the intensity of regenerative braking.

With improved range, more features and slightly updated styling, the long-range 2022 Tata Nexon EV is expected to get expensive by Rs 3 lakh – Rs 4 lakh. Currently, the electric SUV comes in four variants – XZ+, XZ+ Dark Edition, XZ+ LUX and XZ+ LUX Dark Edition – which are priced at Rs 16.78 lakh, Rs 17.13 lakh, Rs 17.82 lakh and Rs 18.03 lakh respectively (all, ex-showroom).
