In August 2020, the Indo-Japanese carmaker rolled out the 2020 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross with a petrol engine. The crossover is being offered in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims priced from Rs 8.39 lakh – Rs 12.39 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Now, the company is planning to expand the S-Cross model lineup with a new variant. Called the Maruti S-Cross Plus, the new model will be based on the entry-level Sigma trim. Its prices will be announced on coming 11th October.
As per the leaked information, the Maruti S-Cross Plus will offer a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It will also have a rear parking camera along with lots of chrome elements.
Similar to the regular Sigma trim, the new variant will come with the halogen projector headlamps, 16-inch steel wheels, silver interior finish, fabric seat upholstery, central locking with remote, TFT multi-information display, engine immobilizer, all 4 power windows, tilt adjustable steering, electrically adjustable ORVMs, manual AC unit, front power socket, dust and pollen filer and 60:40 split rear seats. For the safety provision, the new Maruti S-Cross Plus will provide dual airbags, front and rear disc brakes, rear parking sensors, Isofix child seat mounts, ABS with EBD and brake assist, front seatbelt reminder and speed warning alert.
At the heart of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross’s new variant will be the same 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine making power worth 105bhp and 138Nm of torque. The motor has been boosted with mild hybrid technology (SHVS). The crossover’s new model is likely to be offered with manual gearbox only. The S-Cross petrol manual is claimed to deliver fuel efficiency of 18.55kmpl. It also comes with a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
