Nissan Magnite Spotted Undisguised In Dual-Tone Colour

For the first time, the production-ready Nissan Magnite compact SUV without any camouflage has been spotted at a fuel station. The spotted model was finished in dual-tone paint. With this SUV, Nissan will enter into the highly competitive sub-4 meter SUV segment. The new SUV is rumoured to be the most affordable in its category, and is likely to cost as low as Rs 5.25 lakh.

Nissan Magnite is based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-A+ platform, which will also underpin the upcoming Renault Kiger. The sub-4 meter SUV is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2021, most probably in January. It was originally planned to be launched under the Datsun nameplate, as it features the Datsun’s familiar front grille. It features sleek LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), and extended wheel arches with alloy wheels.

The spotted model was finished in blue body paint and silver roof, which is similar to the Tata Nexon dual-tone version unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo in concept avatar.  Also visible are the wrap-around tail-lamps with LED inserts, flared wheel arches, black plastic cladding all around the body, and dual-tone rear bumper in silver and black. It gets roof-integrated spoiler with LED stop lamps. The spotted model looks like the range-topping model, as it features adjustable rear seat headrest.

The official pictures of the Magnite concept’s interior shows a large touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, digital instrument console with digital speedometer, flat bottom steering wheel, automatic AC, central mounted engine start/stop button and front and rear centre arm rest. The concept has chrome surrounded air vents and chromed door handles, along with self-patterned styled dashboard. If reports are to be believed, the new Magnite will also receive Nissan’s connected car technology – called Nissan Connect. Adding to it, the Nissan Magnite will also receive 360 degree camera and electric sunroof.

The Nissan Magnite is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine in naturally-aspirated and turbocharged versions. While the NA unit produces 72bhp and 96Nm of torque, the turbocharged version offers 99bhp and 160Nm of torque. Both manual and CVT automatic gearbox options will be on offer. The compact SUV will directly rival the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
