Expected to be launched by mid-2024, the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire compact sedan will receive a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-Series engine with CVT automatic gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch multiple new models in the Indian market in the next 1 year. The company will also enter the EV segment with an all-new electric SUV based on the EVX concept that debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo. The homegrown UV maker will also introduce the much-awaited new gen Swift hatchback that has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. Similar to the new Swift, Maruti Suzuki will also launch the new gen Dzire sub-4 meter sedan in the country in 2024.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Styling
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire will come with an evolutionary design, which we have already seen on the new gen Swift hatchback. For people not in know, the new Swift has recently debuted in Japan. The new Dzire is expected to receive similar changes with front design to look largely identical to the hatchback sibling.
The new Maruti Dzire is likely to get a newly designed, larger grille with a gloss black and dark chrome finish, sharper headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, new bumper and flatter nose. The new model will have slightly revised side profile with newly styled 16-inch alloy wheels and conventional rear door handles. The majority of the changes will be made at the back with an all-new tailgate and new full LED tail-lamps.
Interior Details
The cabin of the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire will have similarities with the new breed of Maruti cars including the new Fronx and the Baleno. It will have a large floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a new 3-spoke steering wheel, new central console with revised switchgear and automatic AC. The sedan will have height adjustable driver seat, auto dimming IRVM, a semi-digital instrument console and rear AC vent.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Specifications
The new gen Dzire is expected to be offered with both petrol and hybrid petrol powertrains. The sedan will have a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder DOHC motor, which is called the “Z-Series” engine. Paired to a CVT automatic gearbox, this engine is capable of producing 82bhp of power at 5700rpm and a peak torque of 108Nm at 4500rpm. The mild hybrid version will have a DC synchronous motor, which offers an additional power and torque of 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively. With new Swift, the engine is claimed to return 23.4kmpl and 24.5kmpl with mild hybrid tech.
Launch Details
The new Dzire will be positioned against the Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Aura. Honda will also launch the new gen Amaze sub-4 meter sedan sometime in 2024. While the launch timeline is yet to be revealed, it is expected that the new Dzire will go on sale in our market sometime in the second quarter of 2024.
