Suzuki has recently launched the fourth-generation of the Swift hatchback in the Japanese market, presenting with three distinct trims – XG, Hybrid MX, and Hybrid MZ. The model range boasts a choice between two powertrain options: a 1.2L petrol engine and a 1.2L petrol hybrid. Buyers can select from a palette of nine monotone color options, including Cool Yellow, Super Black, Frontier Blue, Burning Red, Caravan Ivory, Premium Silver, Pure White, Star Silver, and Flame Orange. Additionally, dual-tone variations are available, such as Burning Red with a black roof, Pure White with a black roof, Frontier Blue with a black roof, and Cool Yellow with a black roof.

As above mentioned, the new Suzuki Swift is now available with both petrol and hybrid petrol powertrains. The 1.2L, 12V, DOHC motor, paired with a CVT automatic gearbox, boasts a claimed power output of 82bhp at 5,700rpm and 108Nm at 4,500rpm. The mild hybrid version incorporates a DC synchronous motor, offering power and torque outputs of 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively. The standard petrol engine achieves a claimed mileage of 23.4kmpl, while the hybrid petrol configuration promises an impressive 24.5kmpl on the WLTP cycle.

New Maruti Swift Features

Upon its anticipated arrival in India, the new Maruti Swift is expected to feature the mild hybrid powertrain, albeit potentially without the CVT gearbox. Similar to the current generation, the updated model will continue to provide manual and AMT gearbox options, complemented by the FWD drivetrain system. The Japan-spec Suzuki Swift comes equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technology, a feature that may not be retained for the India-spec version. Internally, the cabin draws inspiration from the new Fronx compact crossover, boasting a 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a new multi-functional steering wheel, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and HVAC controls reminiscent of the Fronx model.
