Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Revealed – 4 Colors, Specs

Royal Enfield had showcased the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition at the brand’s Motoverse festival last month. This motorcycle was a limited edition factory custom version and the production was limited to only 25 units. Now, the company has revealed the production version of the RE Shotgun 650 that is scheduled to be launched across global markets early next year.

The new Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will be available in four colors – Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill and Sheetmetal Grey. It is built on RE’s 650-Twin platform that underpins the Super Meteor 650, Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. It is basically the production version of the SG650 Concept, which was showcased at EICMA 2021.

The motorcycle looks largely identical to the Motoverse edition. The motorcycle has features similar to the Super Meteor, featuring an LED headlight and a Tripper navigation pod. Customers can opt for a single-seater, or with a pillion seat. The motorcycle comes with more upright seating with flatter handlebar and more mid-set footpegs.

Powering the new Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is a tried & tested 648cc, parallel twin, 4-stroke, SOHC, air-cooled engine that produces 46.3hp at 7250rpm and a peak torque of 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is claimed to offer a certified a fuel economy of 22kmpl.

The motorcycle rides on 1465mm long wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 140mm. The new Shotgun 650 measures 2170mm in length, 820mm in width and 1105mm in height, and has a seat height of 795mm. The Bobber has a kerb weight of 240kg and maximum Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 428kg. It has a fuel tank with 13.8-litres of capacity.

The steel tubular spine frame is suspended with Showa-sourced USD front fork with 120mm travel and twin-shock absorber at the rear with 90mm travel. The new Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 rides on 18-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel wrapped in 100/90 and 150/70 section tyres, respectively. For braking duties, the motorcycle gets 320mm front disc and 300mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS as standard.
