Update – The all-new Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been launched in India.
The much-awaited new Maruti Baleno 2022 is all set to go on sale in the country today. The new model will come with significantly revised exterior and all-new interior along with mechanical upgrades. The company has already started accepting pre-orders online or at authorised NEXA dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.
New Maruti Baleno Price Expectations
The new Baleno will come with several segment-first & high-end features, which will give it competitive edge over the Hyundai i20 and the Tata Altroz. Due to high-end features, the new Baleno is expected to be slightly expensive over the previous model. We expect the new model to cost around Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 10.5 lakh. The outgoing model is priced between Rs 6.14 lakh and Rs 9.66 lakh.
The new Maruti Baleno facelift will be offered in a single 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine that produces 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The company won’t introduce the CVT gearbox & the mild-hybrid tech with the updated model.
The new Maruti Baleno will come in 4 trim levels – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and the Alpha – and in total of 11 variants. All the variants, except Sigma, will be offered with manual as well as AMT gearbox options. There will be 6 colour options- Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey, Celestial Blue, Pearl Arctic, Grandeur Grey and Splendid Silver.
The new Baleno has already started reaching dealerships for customer previews & test drives. In terms of styling, the new model gets a wider front grille, new projector headlamps with LED DRLs, new bumper with larger fog lamp housings, new alloys, new C-shaped LED tail-lights and new rear bumper.
The new model comes with several segment-leading features such as a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa support & navigation and wireless phone charging, Heads-Up Display or HUD, Arkamys sound system, etc. The new Baleno will come with several high-end safety and security features including 6 airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, etc. It also comes with segment-first 360 degree camera.
