New Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 has been unveiled for the US market at the New York International Auto Show 2018. First previewed at Hyundai’s Motorstudio Goyang in Seoul, South Korea, the fourth-generation Santa Fe SUV carries Hyundai’s new design language and shares some its design bits with the Kona compact SUV and the recently-unveiled Nexo hydrogen fuel –cell crossover. In the US market, the SUV will go on sale in coming months. The new-gen model comes with a host of advanced technologies and features along with a sportier design. New Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 Launch Date
The next-gen Santa Fe had its world premiere in Seoul, South Korea, followed by its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, 2018. Now, the company has unveiled the SUV for the United States ahead of its launch in coming months. Just so you know, Hyundai removed from the Santa Fe from its official Indian website. In fact, it wasn’t listed on the company’s price revision chart after the GST cess hike. There is no clarity whether the SUV will make its way to India or not. New Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 Price In India
The third generation Santa Fe was available in three variants – 2WD MT, 2WD AT and 4WD AT – priced at Rs 28.32 lakh, Rs 29.57 lakh and Rs 31.74 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. With more evolved design and feature-packed interior, the new model (if launched) is estimated to be priced around Rs 30 lakh for the entry-level variant and Rs 35 lakh for the top-spec model. New Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 Engine Specifications
In the US market, the new-gen Santa Fe will be offered with three powertrains – a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder inline GDI and a new 2.2-litre CRDi. The 2.0L and 2.4L units deliver a maximum power of 235bhp and 185bhp respectively. On the other hand, the new turbocharged diesel engine makes 190bhp at 3,800rpm and 436Nm of torque. New Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 Exterior & Interior
Design inspiration for the new Santa Fe comes from Hyundai’s evolved Fluidic design philosophy. Upfront, the car features the new cascading grille flanked by slim twin LED headlamps with LED DRLs, full-width chrome strip, redesigned lower air intake and bumper, new silver skid plate and resculpted hood. Moving the sides, the car features a bigger DLO, more pronounced wheel arches, 19-inch diamond cut wheels and redesigned mirrors. The rear design of the car looks completely different thanks to its revised tail lamps, bumper and skid plate. Interior of the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe looks a far cry from its predecessor. It gets newly designed dashboard, instrument with a large coloured display, floating screen with new infotainment system, Hyundai’s new AVN 5.0 navigation system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new multifunction three-spoke steering wheel and new and slight repositioned gearshift lever. There is a 640-watt, 12-speaker Infinity branded audio system with 11-channel amplifier integrated with QuantumLogic Surround Sound and Clari-Fi technology. The SUValso gets an interesting SoundHound feature and new ‘Voice Memo’ function. The former enables driver to identify song and its album and singer and display the relevant information on the central display. The center console seems inspired by the Kona. For safety and security, the global-spec model driver assistance features include Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning with a new automated braking function, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) and Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS).
