Based on the current platform, the new Hyundai Santa Fe SUV is expected to be launched in the global markets in early 2018.
Hyundai, the South Korean automaker is working on the fourth generation Santa Fe SUV, which has already been spotted several times. The current gen model is set to end its lifecycle, and Hyundai wants to bring in next gen model before the third gen model to go out of production. The new Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 model was recently spotted by Instagram user emiya_mool_jomado, revealing some of its design highlights.
The new model will get several changes, including the new front fascia. Going by the pictures, it is visible that the vehicle will get split headlamp setup and new front grille. Most of the design changes are likely to be inspired from the Hyundai Kona SUV, which is scheduled to make its global debut later this year. Interestingly, the spotted model looks like a three-row version which is likely to be called Grand Santa Fe or Santa Fe XL.
The next-gen Santa Fe will be based on the updated version of the current platform. It is expected to be powered by the same set of engines that powers the outgoing car. The global-spec model is also expected to get a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Both front wheel and all-wheel drive versions will be on offer. Read – Upcoming Hyundai Cars In India

The new Santa Fe will be based on the updated version of the current platform. Design inspiration for the car comes from Hyundai’s evolved Fluidic design philosophy. If media reports are to be believed, the vehicle will share some of its styling elements from the Hyundai Kona, which will be unveiled towards the end of this year. It will have different front grille layout and the split headlamp setup with a slimmer upper unit. Interestingly, the new model could be offered in two seating layouts – 5 and 7-seat. The 7-seat model could be named Grand Santa Fe or Santa Fe XL.
The cabin of the car is expected to borrow some of its features from the Ioniq sedan. The vehicle is expected to get several high-end features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless charging. For safety and security, the global-spec model is likely to get automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, etc.
Based on the existing platform, the next-generation Santa Fe will share design highlights with Hyundai Kona SUV. The cabin will share in-car tech with Ioniq hybrid sedan while the engine lineup will remain the same.
