New Electric Cars Launched in 2022 – 3 Tata Models

Electric vehicles (EVs) are consistently registering month-on-month growth in the Indian market. Tata Motors takes the top spot with commanding 85% market share, followed by MG and Hyundai. This year, we have witnessed four major launches in the EV segment including Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV Prime and BYD Atto 3. Tata Tiago EV

Tata Tiago EV Waiting Period

The home-grown automaker recently announced prices of the Tata Tiago EV that comes in four trims – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech. Its prices start from Rs 8.49 lakh for the base variant and go up to Rs 11.79 lakh for the top-end trim. The company has confirmed that the Tiago EV deliveries will start in January 2023. The model can be had with either a 19.2kWh or a 24kWh battery pack delivering range of 250km and 315km respectively. The electric hatchback is benefited with Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage technology featuring a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. 2022 Tata Tigor EV Price

The updated Tata Tigor EV was recently launched within the price range of Rs 12.49 lakh – Rs 13.75 lakh. The electric sedan comes with a 26kWh, liquid-cooled, high energy density battery pack offering a range of 315km on a full charge. It delivers a peak power of 54.2bhp and 170Nm of torque. The extended range Tigor EV comes with the ZConnect connected car technology, smartwatch connectivity, multi mode regeneration, tyre pressure monitoring system and a tyre puncture repair kit. It also offers leather wrapped steering, leatherette upholstery, rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps and cruise control. More details here…

Tata Nexon EV Prime

The Tata Nexon EV Prime, which is essentially the updated version of the Nexon EV, went on sale in July 2022. The model lineup comes in Xm, XZ, XZ+ LUX, Dark XZ+ and Dark XZ+ LUX variants, priced from Rs 14.99 lakh to Rs 17.50 lakh. One of the major updates comes in the form of the multi-mode regen function with automatic brake lamp activation. It also gets smartwatch integrated connectivity, an indirect tyre pressure monitoring system via smartphone application and cruise control. The EV has a 30.2kWh battery pack and a 129bhp electric motor offering a claimed range of 312km on a single charge. The Nexon EV Prime receives a new Daytona Grey colour along with three regular exterior shades. More details here…

BYD Atto 3

BYD Atto 3 Range

BYD introduced its second offering in India as Atto 3 electric SUV that costs from Rs 33.99 lakh. While its bookings have already been commenced, the deliveries of its 500 units will begin in January 2023. Powertrain setup of the BYD Atto 3 includes a 60kWh BYD Blade battery and a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. It offers a claimed range of 521km on a single charge. The EV can do 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds. Its battery pack takes 50 minutes to get charged up to 80 percent. Buyers have 4 colour options to choose from – Ski White, Surf Blue, Parkour Red and Boulder Grey.
