2022 Tata Tigor EV Prices Out – Extended-Range, 10 New Features

Tata Motors today rolled out the updated Tigor EV compact sedan in the country. The 2022 Tata Tigor EV model lineup comes in four variants – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX – priced at Rs 12.49 lakh, Rs 12.99 lakh, Rs 13.49 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. The electric sedan’s new model offers extended range along with the more ‘Lux’ features and a new Magnetic Red colour option.

Commenting on the launch, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., has revealed that the company holds 89% of market share with a total of 50,000 electric cars running on roads. The automaker has already received over 20,000 bookings for the electric sedan within a month of its launch. The new Tata Tigor EV in-line with the brand’s New Forever philosophy and comes with “more tech and premium features”. The company have “deep insights on customer driving pattern received from the 600 million kilometers covered on Indian roads has helped it understand and deliver better efficiency and range”.

The 2022 Tata Tigor EV offers an enhanced ARAI range of 315km on a single charge. The electric sedan uses a 26kWh liquid-cooled, high energy density battery pack and an IP67 rated battery pack and motor. The setup offers a maximum power of 55kW (54.2bhp) and a peak torque of 170Nm.

In terms of features, the electric sedan’s updated model offers leatherette upholstery, leather wrapped steering, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers and cruise control. All variants of the new Tata Tigor EV are now available with features such as connected car technology – Zconnect, multi-mode regeneration, smartwatch connectivity and tyre pressure monitoring system (iTPMS). It also gets tyre puncture repair kit as standard.

Similar to the Tata Nexon EV Prime, the existing Tata Tigor EV’s owners can extend a free of cost feature update pack via a software update. The existing XZ+ and XZ+ DT customers can also receive a Smartwatch connectivity upgrade along with the iTPMS, multi-mode regen and tyre puncture repair kit. Customers can avail this service by visiting any Tata Motors’ authorized service centre starting 20th December, 2022.
