New 6 SUVs, 2 MPVs Coming In January – 2023 Auto Expo

Asia’s largest automotive show, the Delhi Auto Expo is all set to return in January 2023. Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Kia, Toyota and MG are among the major participants of the event. Car manufacturers such as Mahindra, Honda, Skoda, Volkswagen, Jeep, Citroen, Nissan, Renault, BMW, Audi and Mercedes are giving it a miss. Here’s some key details of the major SUVs and MPVs that will make their first public appearance at the 2023 Auto Expo.

Maruti Baleno Cross

Maruti Baleno Cross YTB

The Indo-Japanese will unveil its new compact coupe SUV at the Delhi Auto Expo in January, 2023. The model is reported to be named Maruti Baleno Cross that will underpin Suzuki’s Global C platform. Powering the SUV will be the BS6-compliant Boosterjet turbo petrol engine with mild hybrid tech. It might also come with the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol or 1.5L Dualjet petrol engines. It will be a Nexa offering that’s estimated to cost between Rs 8 lakh – Rs 11 lakh. More details here…

5-Door Maruti Jimny

The 5-door Maruti Jimny will be among the major new car unveilings at the 2023 Auto Expo. It will be introduced as a lifestyle off-road SUV with rugged styling, practical interior and efficient powertrain. The SUV is likely to come with a new 1.5L K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine with mild hybrid tech. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the Ertiga. The Maruti Jimny can be with either a manual or an automatic gearbox. The lifestyle SUV will offer Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro AWD ystem. More details here…

Hyundai Creta Facelift

2023 Hyundai Creta facelift

First unveiled at the 2021 GIIAS, the Hyundai Creta facelift will make its first public appearance in India at the Delhi Auto Expo. It’s likely to be launched before the end of this fiscal year. Upfront, the new 2023 Hyundai Creta facelift will feature a new parametric grille, more rectangular headlamps, updated rear bumper, redesigned boot lit and sharper taillamps. The SUV will come with the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) along with the updated Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech and touchscreen infotainment system. Kia Seltos Facelift

Kia India hasn’t yet revealed its plan for the 2023 Auto Expo. Speculations are on rife that the automaker might showcase the updated Seltos at the event. The SUV will come with slightly improved exterior featuring newly-designed headlamps, more prominent air dam, updated front and rear bumpers, new alloys and taillamps with L-shaped LED signature. Interior will be revised with an updated infotainment system. Similar to the new Creta, the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will receive ADAS suite. No changes will be made under the hood. Tata Harrier/Safari Facelift

New Tata Harrier 2023 facelift

The new Tata Harrier and Safari facelifts could be the two big unveilings from the home-grown automaker at the Expo. Both SUVs are expected to come with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) along with the bigger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity and a 360 degree camera. The updated models will continue to use the 2.0L turbo diesel engine that’s good for 173bhp and 350Nm. Noticeable changes will be made to their exterior including a new grille, revised headlamps with LED DRLs, new alloy wheels and updated LED taillamps. More details here…

2023 Toyota Innova HyCross teaser

Toyota Kirloskar Motor will unveil the new Innova HyCross on 25th November in India. The model will be based on the monocoque platform and come with the FWD system. Its powertrain setup will include a 2.0L petrol engine with the strong hybrid tech. The MPV can be had with an e-CVT automatic gearbox. The Toyota Innova HyCross will be the brand’s first car to come with the ADAS and a panoramic sunroof. Maruti Suzuki will also unveil its first re-badged Toyota car at the 2023 Auto Expo.
