Asia’s biggest biennial automotive event, Delhi Auto Expo is all set to return after three years in January 2023. The event will be organized in Greater Noida from 13th to 18th Jan. Automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata and Toyota will unveil their major upcoming products at the Auto Expo. However, Mahindra, Honda, Volkswagen, Skoda, Nissan, Citroen and Isuzu have decided to skip it. Talking about the MPV segment, the event will witness unveiling of two big MPVs (family cars) including the new Toyota Innova HyCross and a new Maruti C-segment MPV. Here’re some key details of both models that will debut at the 2023 Auto Expo.
Toyota Innova HyCross
The new Innova HyCross is ready to have its world premiere on 25th November 2022 in Indonesia. The MPV will make its India debut at the 2023 Auto Expo. Unlike the exiting Innova that underpins ladder frame chassis and has RWD setup, the new one will be designed on a monocoque platform and come with FWD system. The new Toyota Innova HyCross will use a 2.0L petrol engine with the strong hybrid tech. Transmission duties will be done by an e-CVT automatic gearbox. Maruti C-segment MPV
Maruti Suzuki’s new C-segment MPV will be the brand’s first re-badged Toyota car that’s expected to hit roads in the second half of 2023. It will be retailed via Nexa dealership network. Similar to the Innova HyCross, the new Maruti MPV will be based on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform and come with the naturally aspirated petrol and strong hybrid powertrains. In order to differentiate it from the Innova Hycross, the Indo-Japanese automaker might make a few design changes to the MPV.
