New 2023 Maruti Swift India Debut Could Be In January

The new-generation Suzuki Swift is reported to have its world premiere in December 2022. The hatchback’s new model will also make its way to India sometime next year. Speculations are on rife that the Indo-Japanese automaker might showcase the new 2023 Maruti Swift at the Delhi Auto Expo. The biennial automotive event is scheduled to start from 13th January at India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida. Official confirmation on its India debut is yet to be made.

Significant cosmetic changes and feature upgrades are likely to be made on the hatchback. The new Maruti Swift 2023 will feature a newly-designed grille, updated bumper with new C-shaped air splitters, wider and lower air intake, sleeker headlamps with new LED elements and new fog lamp assembly at the front end. The side profile will be revised with larger and a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels, new body panels, faux air vents on wheel arches, blacked out pillars and a roof mounted spoiler.

Unlike the current model that has rear door handles on the C-pillar, the new 2023 Maruti Swift will have door handles integrated on doors. A few changes might also be made at the rear section. The hatchback will be designed on the modified Heartect platform similar to the new Baleno hatchback. No changes are likely to be made to its dimensions. The new Swift will continue to measure 3845mm in length, 1735mm in width and 1530mm in height with a wheelbase of 2450mm. Read – Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Which Variant Offers The Best Value?

Interior upgrades might include a larger infotainment system (new SmartPlay Pro+) with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Suzuki voice assist and OTA (over-the-air updates). In select global makerts, the new Swift could also be offered with a 360 degree camera, traffic sign recognition, lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

If reports are to be believed, the new 2023 Maruti Swift will come with the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine with and without mild hybrid tech. The hatchback can be had with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Globally, the new-generation Suzuki Swift Sport will be offered with a powerful 1.4L Boosterjet turbocharged petrol motor.
