The new-generation Mahindra Scorpio has been on test for a long time. We have already seen ‘N’ numbers of its spy images and videos revealing interesting design and feature details. Recently, a test mule of SUV’s entry-level variant was caught on camera featuring heavy camouflage. Here’re key details we have noticed.
One can see its taillamp design that looks completely different from the current generation. The tailgate has a door handle for sideways opening. The model carries roof rails and newly-designed alloy wheels. The higher trims are likely to come with the diamond-cut alloys and new tyres. Visually, the test mule of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio appears bigger than the existing model and has a massive road presence.

The base variant of the new Mahindra Scorpio 2022 is likely to come with an 8.0-inch infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, a 4-speaker audio system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, adjustable, flat-bottom steering wheel, adjustable headrests for the second row occupants, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Isofix. The higher trims will be exclusively offered with features such as a larger infotainment system, digital analogue instrument cluster, a 360 degree camera, Head-Up display (HUD), dual-tone leather seats, vehicle telematics, multiple airbags, reverse camera, cruise control and AWD (all-wheel drive) system.
The new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will underpin a new ladder-on-frame chassis and come with two more powerful engines. There will be a 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2L turbo diesel motor. The oil burner is likely to deliver power worth 130bhp on lower variants and 160bhp on higher variants. The petrol unit is reported to offer a peak power of 180bhp. Both engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
More details on the new Mahindra Scorpio 2022 are likely to be revealed with its debut in June. Its market launch might happen in September or October – i.e. just before the Diwali season.
