Unveiled on 14th April, the new Honda City Hybrid is ready for official launch that will happen next month. While its official launch date is yet to be announced, our sources reveal that it will hit showrooms on 4th May 2022. Interested, customers can pre-book the model at any authorized Honda dealership or online. It will be the first strong hybrid electric car in the mainstream segment in the country. The Honda City eHEV will also be one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in India.
Based on the fifth-generation City, the hybrid sedan will come with an Atkinson Cycle 1.5L, 4-cylinder engine paired to two electric motors. A 0.734kWh lithium-ion battery pack has been placed in the boot. The model is claimed to deliver a top power of 126bhp and 253Nm of torque. Mileage figure of the City e:HEV stands at 26.5kmpl.
The Japanese automaker has packed the new Honda City Hybrid with lots of advanced goodies including Honda Sensing tech. It has ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) that offers lane keeping assist system, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system and auto high beam. The Honda City eHEV has a 7-inch colour TFT meter with hybrid or sensing graphics, an one-touch electric sunroof, remote engine start and walk away auto clock. With respect to safety, the electric sedan offers 6 airbags, electric parking brake, lanewatch, auto brake hold and all 4 wheel disc brakes.
As mentioned above, prices of the Honda City Hybrid will be announced in coming days. We expect that the carmaker will try to come with attractive pricing.
