Tata Motors has expanded the Tiago hatchback model lineup with a new variant – XTO. Priced at Rs 5.47 lakh, (ex-showroom), the 2021 Tata Tiago XTO variant sits between the entry-level XE and XT trims. It’s around Rs 48,000 more expensive than the base XE variant and Rs 15,000 cheaper than the XT variant. On the feature front, the new 2021 Tata Tiago XTO variant offers 4 speakers audio system and steering mounted phone and audio controls. Though, it misses out on some key features such as Bluetooth connectivity, Harman music system, speed dependent volume control and USB along with AM/FM.
It comes equipped with all features offered on the entry-level XE variant including body-coloured bumpers, 14-inch steel rims, dual tone interior theme, a 2.5-inch MID, tachometer, tilt and power steering, multi drive modes, adjustable front and integrated rear head rest, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert, dual airbags and more.
The 2021 Tata Tiago model lineup includes 6 manual variants priced from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 6.43 lakh. There are 4 automatic variants – XTA, XZA, XZA+ and XZA+ DT – which are priced at Rs 6.14 lakh , Rs 6.59 lakh, Rs 6.85 lakh and Rs 6.95 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
In other updates, the home-grown carmaker is gearing up to launch the Tata HBX concept based micro SUV to challenge Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the upcoming Hyundai AX1. Its lower variants are likely to be offered with the Tiago’s 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good enough for 86bhp and 113Nm of torque. The mini SUV might also be made available with a 1.2L turbocharged petrol motor delivering power around 100bhp. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT transmission.
