MG Hector Plus SUV Reaches Dealership; Launch Soon

MG Hector Plus 6/7-seater SUV has started arriving at dealerships ahead of its launch in early July, 2020. Production of the model is already underway at the company’s Halol based plant. Just so you know, the SUV’s 6-seater version made its first public appearance at this year’s Auto Expo. Reports suggest that it will be initially offered with 6-seats configuration only. Its 7-seater model will come at a later stage.

The new 6/7-seater from the British carmaker will take head-to-head multiple products right from the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Tata Gravitas to the Toyota Innova Crysta. Its prices will be around Rs 1 lakh higher than 5-seater Hector. Official price announcement will be made in the first or second week of the next month.

While the wheelbase of the Hector Plus is exactly same as its younger sibling, the overall length has been increased by 65mm. Minor design changes have also been made to its exterior. The 6/7-seater SUV features new LED headlamps, new radiator grille, updated front bumper, revised auxiliary lamps, new rear bumper and slightly tweaked silver diffuser. The SUV also receives hands free boot opening feature along with an exclusive Starry Sky Blue paint scheme.

Interior will be more or less similar to the 5-seater Hector. One of the major update is the additional third row of seats. The list of features will include a 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, a 360 degree camera, connected car technology, power adjustable front seats, cruise control, USB charging port for the third row passengers, AC vent, 6 airbags and more.

Things under the hood will be exactly similar to the 5-seater model. The MG Hector Plus will come with the three engines – a 1.5L turbo petrol (143PS/250Nm), a 2.0L turbo diesel (170PS/350Nm) and a 1.5L petrol with mild hybrid system. While a 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard on the petrol and diesel models, an automatic unit will be exclusively offered on the petrol variants.
