MG Hector Plus – 2 Variants Removed From the Model Lineup

The British automaker has silently discounted a couple of variants of the MG Hector Plus SUV. The Style 1.5L turbo petrol hybrid manual 7-seater and Super 2.0L turbo diesel manual 6-seater variants have been removed from the model lineup. While the former was available at Rs 13.96 lakh, the latter was priced at Rs 16.75 lakh (all, ex-showroom). At present, the Hector Plus 7-seater petrol is available in Super trim only that costs Rs 15.46 lakh.

There are five petrol 6-seater variants (including 4 automatic and one manual), which are priced between Rs 17.83 lakh – Rs 19.49 lakh. The SUV model lineup includes 6 diesel variants – Style MT 7-seater, Super MT 7-seater, Smart MT 7-seater, Smart MT 6-seater, Select MT 7-seater and Sharp MT 6-seater – priced at Rs 15.38 lakh, Rs 16.48 lakh, Rs 18.49 lakh, Rs 18.59 lakh, Rs 19.35 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.

MG Hector Plus 7 Seater

The MG Hector Plus received a mid-life update earlier this year. The SUV is currently available with three engine options – 143hp, 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines, 1.5-litre petrol with mild-hybrid tech and a 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel. All three motors can be had with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The non-hybrid turbo petrol is also comes with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox option.

MG Motor India recently introduced the Astor mid-size SUV to challenge Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It also takes on the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. Bookings for the SUV have been commenced from 21st October and its deliveries will begin from 1st November 2021. The MG Astor has already been sold out for this year. Currently, the company is taking bookings only for 2022. It’s the most powerful and feature-loaded vehicle in its segment. The Astor comes in five trims (Style, Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy), which are powered by 110PS, 1.5L petrol and 140PS, 1.3L turbo petrol engines.
