Hyundai Creta, the South Korean automaker’s top-selling model, is all set to get a mid-life update in November 2021. Ahead of its official debut, the company has released its exterior and interior teaser images revealing interesting details. The 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift will be first launched in Indonesia, followed by India in the second half of 2022. We have already seen the updated model in camouflaged avatar, which was caught testing multiple times in Korea and Indonesia.
The latest teasers confirm that the new Hyundai Creta 2022 will have next-generation Tucson inspired front fascia. The newly-designed parametric grille with Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design language will give it a refreshing look. Compared to the existing model, the new one will feature more rectangular shaped headlamp units placed slightly lower than before. Its LED DRLs (daytime running lights) seems borrowed from the new Tucson. The new Creta facelift is likely to come with the revised bumpers, new faux skid plate and fog lamp assembly, newly-designed alloy wheels and split taillamps.
Interior layout of the 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift will remain unchanged. Though, the SUV might come with the new leather upholstery. Rumour has it that the automaker might equip the new model with some advanced goodies including HUD (head-up unit), a 360 degree camera and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). In Indonesia, the new Hyundai Creta 2022 is expected to be offered with a single 1.5L petrol engine. Here, the SUV is likely to come with the same 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engine options. The naturally aspirated petrol unit makes power worth 115bhp with 144Nm and turbo petrol motor delivers 140bhp with 242Nm. The 1.5L diesel engine returns a claimed power of 115bhp and 250Nm of torque.
Similar to the current model, the 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift turbo-petrol variants will come with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox only. The SUV model lineup will also be available with the 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options.
