MG Motor has recently launched the new Astor mid-sized SUV at a starting price of Rs 9.78 lakh, which goes up to Rs 16.78 lakh. The company opened the bookings for the Astor today and the car was sold out in minutes. MG Motor aims to deliver 5,000 units before the end of 2021. The introductory prices were applicable on the first 5,000 orders, which means the MG Astor will get costlier in the near future.
Interested buyers can now book the MG Astor for 2022 through the company’s official website or visiting an authorised MG dealership. It is offered in 4 trim levels – Style, Super, Smart and Sharp – in two engine and 3 gearbox options. The new mid-sized SUV is offered in 5 colour options – Spiced Orange, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy White and Starry Black.

We are ecstatic about the response we have received from the customers. However, given the global chip crisis that the industry is undergoing, we can only supply a limited number of cars this year. The MG Astor is India’s first SUV with a personal AI assistant and segment-first Autonomous (Level 2) technology. Sourced from Bosch, the ADAS offer features like Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Ford Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Speed warning, and intelligent headlamp control.
The MG Astor is offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol. While the former is good for 110bhp and 144Nm, the later offers 140bhp and 220Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual & 8-speed CVT with 1.5L engine and a 6-speed automatic with turbo unit.
