MG Hector Bookings Crosses 10,000 Mark In Just 23 Days
Deliveries for the MG Hector SUV will commence in the first week of July 2019
MG Motor has launched the much-awaited Hector SUV at an aggressive price tag of Rs 12.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). PTI reports that the company has recorded over 10,000 units of the MG Hector SUV in less than 23 days. Deliveries for the SUV will commence in the first week of July. MG Motor India is planning to sell around 18,000 units of the Hector for the first year. Commenting on the Hector’s launch, Rajeev Chaba, President and MD, MG Motor India said, “We have had a good response to the Hector going by the bookings with customers not even knowing the price.”
MG Motor India has invested of 2,200 crore in order to set up its business in India, which includes setting up dealerships and the manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat. The company has already finalised 50 dealer partners with over 120 customer touch-points. MG plans to double-up the touch-points by September this year. MG Hector SUV is available with 3 engine options – a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel and a 1.5L petrol + mild-hybrid system. While the petrol engine produces 143bhp and 250Nm of torque, the oil burner is good for 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. The hybrid system gets a 48-volt hybrid system, which is claimed to be 12 per cent more fuel efficient than the regular petrol model. MG Hector comes with ‘MG Shield’, which gives assurance to customers regarding maintenance and ownership. The company is offering a 5 years/unlimited kilometer comprehensive warranty. Adding to it, MG is also providing free roadside 24*7 assistance and no labour charges for the first five scheduled services.
