MG Gloster Interior Details Revealed; Launch in October

Interior details of the upcoming MG Gloster premium 7-seater SUV have been revealed in the latest spy pictures ahead of its launch in October, 2020. Its interior packaging and features are quite similar to the Maxus D90 that’s retailed in the Chinese market. The dual-tone theme with tan leather upholstery, tan leather finish on dashboard and brushed aluminum trim enhance its premium feel and appeal. There is a floating 1.23-inch touchscreen infotainment system below which are the central AC vents and manual controls for the climate control system. The SUV has a flat-bottom steering with mounted controls and Audi-like gear selector for the automatic gearbox. Some of its key highlights include a full digital instrument display, paddle shifters, a drive mode selector, a panoramic sunroof and electronic parking brake. The Gloster offers captain seats in the second row and a bench seat in the third row. The powered front seats come with ventilation, heating and massage functions. The tan leather seats have a diamond quilt pattern.

We have reported earlier that MG Gloster will be the first car in its league to feature 64 colour ambient lighting. The carmaker has already confirmed that the 7-seater SUV has been equipped with several class-leading safety features including lane keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control, front collision warning and park assist.

Official engine details are yet to be revealed. Though, it’s likely to be offered with 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engines generating power worth 224bhp and 218bhp. While the gasoline unit might come with a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options, the oil burner can be had with an 8-speed automatic transmission sourced from ZF.

The British carmaker might import the Gloster via CKD (completely knocked down) route and then assemble it at its Halol based plant. With Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in its sight, the new MG 7-seater SUV is estimated to be priced from Rs 40 lakh for the base variant. Official prices of the model will be announced in the month of October.
