New Ducati Panigale V2 Launched – More Powerful, Updated Suspension

The new Ducati Panigale V2 has been launched in India at Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The bikemaker says that the new model “is a beefy yet compact bike of essential design with clear-cut lines that convey power without compromising on the classic Ducati superbike flaire.” While bookings of the new Panigale V2 were commenced in the month of July for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh, its deliveries are promised to begin immediately. The new model receives multiple cosmetic and feature upgrades along with an updated suspension setup and BS6-compliant engine.

At heart of the 2020 Ducati Panigale V2 is a 955cc, twin-cylinder engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The motor pushes out a peak power of 152.8bhp at 10,750rpm and 104Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. The BS6-compliant motor is 5bhp more powerful and 2Nm torqueier, thanks to new injectors and more efficient snorkel.  As mentioned above, the bike gets an updated suspension setup that includes a fully adjustable 43mm Showa Big Piston Fork at the front and fully adjustable side-mounted Sachs monoshock at the rear.

The cross-mounted Sachs steering damper further improves its riding comfort. The new Ducati Panigale V2 rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II front and rear tyres, which are derived from WSBK. The bikemaker has also increased its ground clearance by 2mm at the front and 5mm at the rear. While the foot pegs position remains unchanged, its seat height has been increased by 5mm. The updated model offers three riding modes – Race, Sport and Street.

Design of the 2020 Ducati Panigale V2 is inspired by its bigger sibling – Panigale V4. Some of its key features include twin headlamp setup, eyebrow-like LED DRLs, sculpted fuel tank, sharp lines across the main fairing, single-sided aluminum swingarm, high raked tail section, full LED taillamps with a two-part design and an all-new 4.3-inch colour TFT dashboard, Ducati Quick Shift (Up/Down) and latest EVO 2 strategy for Ducati traction control and DQS.
