German luxury car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz will launch the highly rated CLA 45 AMG in the Indian car market on July 22nd. The company has selected the Buddh International Circuit to introduce this much-awaited sedan. Mercedes-Benz has already updated its official website with the CLA45 AMG which was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show.
The CLA45 AMG is the performance oriented Mercedes CLA sedan. The CLA saloon will also go on sale in the country by year and will compete against the soon to be launched Audi A3 sedan. Based on the A-Class platform, the CLA45 AMG shares most of its styling components with the A45 AMG. This model will come via CBU (Completely Built-in Unit) route, and is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 60-65 lakh. Mercedes dealers across the nation have already started taking pre-orders for the CLA45 AMG at a token amount of Rs. 1 lakh, while the deliveries are expected to commence from August.
The AMG spec Mercedes-Benz CLA is powered by the 2.0-litre, direct-injection turbo-petrol engine that is capable of developing a top power output of 355bhp and a peak torque of 450Nm. This model accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 4.6 seconds and hits a top speed of 250kmph, which is pretty impressive. The powertrain is paired to a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission which channeled the power to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The CLA45 AMG is equipped with high-end safety features including nine airbags, adaptive brake with hold function and attention assist.
