We reportedly earlier that 2015 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 TDI has reached the Indian shores from Mexico for homologation purpose. Now, the company has again imported two more models including the 2015 VW Jetta 1.4 TFSI variant and the 2.0 TDI for homologation purpose. Unveiled at the 2014 New York Motor Show, the updated Jetta is likely to go on sale in the country by the year end or by early next year. [New VW Jetta in Pictures]
The 1.4-litre TFSI engine is capable of developing a top power output of 120bhp at 5000rpm and a peak torque of 200Nm at 1500rpm. This engine is paired to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox which sends the power to front wheels of the sedan.
The new Jetta gets new styling elements at the front and rear. The updated model is claimed to be more fuel efficient, thanks to reduce in air drag and utilizing new tires that help improve rolling assistance. The front façade of the sedan features redesigned radiator grille with cross fins, complemented by optional Bi-Xenon headlights with Adaptive front-lighting system, and a new bumper.
At the back, the sedan gets updated trunk-lid, taillights, rear logos and bumper. The trunk-lid has an aerodynamic trailing while the integrated spoiler extends into the rear fenders. Beneath this are new LED taillights equipped with a bright stripe and redesigned VW logo.
The interiors of the VW Jetta remain largely unchanged; however, the company has added some more features to make it refreshing. It is equipped with new instrument panel, new multi-functional steering wheel, piano black accents on the centre console, chrome accents around AC vents and new seat upholstery.
