Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the CNG version of the recently introduced Grand Vitara SUV in the country. The Maruti Grand Vitara CNG is available in two variants – Delta MT and Zeta MT – priced at Rs 12.85 lakh and Rs 14.84 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. With this, Maruti Suzuki is now offering 14 CNG models in the country. Toyota will also introduce the CNG version of the Hyryder, as the bookings have already commenced at Rs 25,000.
The Maruti Grand Vitara CNG version is powered by a 1.5-litre, Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. In CNG mode, the engine produces 87.83PS of power at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 121.5Nm at 4,200rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels vi a 5-speed manual gearbox. The regular petrol model offers 100.61PS at 6,000rpm and 136Nm of torque at 4,400rpm.
The Maruti Grand Vitara S-CNG is claimed to return a certified fuel efficiency of 26.6km/kg that’s marginally higher than the XL6 CNG at 26.32km/kg. The XL6 CNG also gets the same 1.5L petrol engine with 5-speed manual gearbox.
The CNG versions of the Vitara shares all the features from the regular petrol variants. It is only premium CNG SUV to offer a 6-airbag variant to customer. The SUV comes fitted with SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, and Suzuki Connect, with 40+ connected features. Adding to it, the Zeta variant comes with auto LED headlamps with follow-me home function, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, auto folding wing mirrors, Arkamys sound system, ambient door lighting and others.
The Delta variant features a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro infotainment screen with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support, Alexa and Google assistance, connected car features, 4-speaker sound system, cruise control and reverse parking camera. The Maruti Grand Vitara CNG can also be owned through Maruti Suzuki Subscribe at an all-inclusive monthly subscription fee starting from Rs. 30723.
