Maruti Baleno CNG, XL6 CNG Launched – Mileage, Price, Features

After introducing the CNG versions of ARENA range, Maruti Suzuki has now announced the expansion of the S-CNG technology in NEXA. The company has launched the new Maruti Baleno CNG and the XL6 CNG. The XL6 CNG is available in a single Zeta variant at a price of Rs 12.24 lakh (ex-showroom), which is around 96,000 expensive than the petrol Zeta variant.

The new Baleno CNG version is available in two variants – Delta MT and Zeta MT – priced at Rs 8.28 lakh and Rs 9.21 lakh respectively. Both CNG variants cost around 95,000 more than the respective petrol variants. The new Baleno CNG and the XL6 CNG can also be owned through Maruti Suzuki subscribe at an all-inclusive monthly subscription fee starting from Rs 18403 and Rs 30821 respectively.

New Maruti XL6 Features

The Suzuki’s S-CNG vehicles come with dual inter-dependent Electronic Control Units (ECU) and an intelligent injection system to provide an air-fuel ratio that ensures improved performance and efficiency. MSIL claims that the S-CNG system comes with stainless steel pipes and joints to avoid corrosion and leakage in the entire structure.

The Maruti Baleno CNG is claimed to offer a certified fuel economy of 30.61km/kg. It is also the only premium CNG hatchback to offer 6 airbags. It comes with a 7-inch Smart Play pro touchscreen infotainment system with voice assistance, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Suzuki Connect with 40+ connected features, MID display with CNG specific screens, LED projector headlamps & 60:40 rear split seats.

2022 Maruti Baleno Bookings

It is powered by the same 1.2L DualJet naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. In the CNG mode, the engine offers 77.49PS at 6,000rpm and 98.5Nm at 4,300rpm. Compared to the petrol model, the power and torque drops by around 12PS and 14.5Nm respectively. It is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 CNG

The Suzuki XL6 CNG is claimed to offer a certified fuel economy of 26.32km/kg. It is powered by the same 1.5-litre Dualjet petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit that is offered with the Ertiga CNG. In the CNG mode, the powertrain offers 87.83PS of power and 121.5Nm of torque. This is around 13PS and 15Nm less than the regular petrol variant. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The XL6 also features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support. It gets Suzuki Connect with 40+ connected features, cruise control and LED DRLs. The XL6 CNG comes with 4 airbags, ESP with hill hold, LED front fog lamps and Isofix child seat anchorages.
