Maruti Fronx SUV Launch By April – Details In 6 Quick Points

Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the upcoming SUV coupe from the Indo-Japanese automaker, has finally made its first public appearance at the Auto Expo 2023. Interested buyers can pre-book the model at all authorized Nexa dealerships. Its prices will be announced by April. The carmaker says that the compact SUV offers “sporty design language to technology that ensures your safety, comfort, and convenience”. Here’re 6 key details of the new Maruti Fronx SUV.

Variants

The Fronx model lineup will be made available in five trims – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha. The Sigma, Delta and Delta+ trims will come with the 1.2L petrol engine and manual and AMT gearbox options. The Delta+, Zeta and Alpha variants can be had with the 1.0L Boosterjet petrol motor.

Baleno-inspired Design

The lower Sigma and Delta trims have halogen projector headlamps, while the Delta+, Zeta and Alpha trims get LED multi-reflector units. Upfront, it features NEXTre LED DRLs, NEXWave grille with chrome finish and Nexa’s signature connected full LED rear combination lamp. The pronounced wheel arches, underbody cladding, roof garnish, shark fin antenna and alloy wheels enhance its side profile. Boosterjet Engine

The Maruti Fronx marks debut of the brand’s updated 1.0L Boosterjet, turbocharged petrol engine that’s good for 100PS and 148Nm of torque. The motor has been benefited with Suzuki’s mild hybrid technology. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The automatic variants will have paddle shifters. The SUV comes with a 1.2L Dualjet, Dual VVT petrol engine as well. It pushes out a peak power of 90PS and 113Nm of torque. The Dualjet unit will be available with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.

Colours, Dimensions

The new Maruti compact SUV can be had in 5 single-tone exterior colours – Arctic White, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey and Splendid Silver. The Opulent Red, Earthen Brown and Splendid Silver shades will also be available with Bluish Black roof. The model measures 3995mm in length, 1765mm in width and 1550mm in height with a wheelbase of 2520mm. It offers a boot capacity of 308-litres and a fuel tank capacity of 37-litres.

Interior

Interior of the new Maruti Fronx has dual-tone theme with leather wrapped steering wheel, fabric seat upholstery and chrome plated inside door handles. The Zeta and Alpha trims are available with Suzuki Connect connected car tech offering features such as emergency alerts, breakdown notification, stolen vehicle notification and tracking, geofence and more.

The model lineup has also been packed with features such as a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, Over the Air Update (OTA), voice assistant, TFT colured MIF, wireless phone charger, cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, keyless entry system, engine push start/stop with smart key, height adjustable driver seat, power windows, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, Type A & C USB charging sockets and many more.

Lots of Safety Features

The SUV’s standard safety kit includes electronic stability program, hill hold assist, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors with infographic display, all 3-point ELR seat belts, rear defogger and Isofix child seat restraint system. The Head-up Display and 360 view camera are exclusively offered on the top-end Alpha trim. The higher trims also offer 6 airbags protection. It also comes with the rear view camera and anti theft security system.
